2026 SXSW Taiwan Beats Showcase Set for March 13 someshiit, Our Shame, Modern Cinema Master, Flesh Juicer, Pei-Yu Hung, and Sorry Youth Share Taiwan’s bold, evolving sound and island spirit with the world!

The 2026 South by Southwest (SXSW) Music Festival will be held from March 12 to 18 in Austin, Texas, with more than 700 artists confirmed for its 40th annual Music Festival. Among them, the Taiwan-curated Taiwan Beats Showcase will be held on March 13 at Venue 6 (The Venue ATX), featuring someshiit, Our Shame, Modern Cinema Master, Flesh Juicer, Pei-Yu Hung, and Sorry Youth, presenting Taiwan’s boldly evolving sound and dynamic island spirit to global audiences.

The Taiwan Beats Showcase is a long-running music export project spotlighting Taiwanese artists on the global stage. Supported by the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development (BAMID), it has become a recognised highlight at SXSW for its polished live shows and clear curatorial vision. Echoing SXSW 2026’s cross-industry focus, it showcases the cross-disciplinary energy of Taiwanese music as it moves between innovation and tradition, and across music, film, and visual storytelling.

Taiwan’s most compelling live acts, each bringing a distinct voice to the stage. Rising introspective rapper someshiit delivers his signature bedroom rap through a refined live-band format, folktronica duo Our Shame present highlights from their latest album, pairing international touring experience with a sound that drifts between acoustic intimacy and electronic pulse. Alternative rock quartet Modern Cinema Master channel post-punk edges and folk-inflected hard rock into a raw, unvarnished set. Representing Taiwan’s heavy music frontier, Flesh Juicer promises a ferocious, ritual-like metal performance, Pei-Yu Hung stands out as a vocalist who seamlessly weaves pop songwriting with performance art and contemporary theatre. While closing act Sorry Youth distills the spirit of Taiwan into a cathartic, emotionally charged finale. By bringing Taiwan’s bold creative spirit to SXSW, these six acts aim to make waves and resonate with international audiences, drawing the world closer to Taiwan.

Earlier in the day, the Taiwan Beats Day Party will centre on industry exchange, featuring Artists Pitching sessions from six Taiwanese acts and cross-Asian matchmaking designed to foster direct, informal connections with global music professionals.
